Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is looking for a motivated and experienced Project or Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. If you have 5+ years of experience in geotechnical investigations and construction observation/testing (especially in Virginia), this is your opportunity to step into a leadership role with a firm that values innovation, growth, and technical excellence.

As a Geotechnical Group Leader, you'll be hands-on in managing subsurface investigations, solving complex soil-related challenges, performing detailed engineering analysis, and preparing high-quality reports and proposals. You’ll also play a pivotal role in developing scopes, fees, and leading project execution from start to finish.

But that’s not all! This role goes beyond technical expertise. You’ll mentor junior staff, foster a culture of safety, and drive business development, helping to build new client relationships while strengthening existing ones. Your strategic insights will help GTA explore new markets and grow our regional presence.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in geotechnical engineering or civil engineering (PE license required)

  • A Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred but not required)

  • Strong business development and marketing skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on geotechnical experience
