Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking an Environmental Scientist with up to 3 years of experience to join our growing team in Washington DC. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging environmental professional to advance their career within our Environmental Department. Our department serves a diverse client base, providing due diligence, regulatory consulting, site remediation, and more. This role also offers the chance to collaborate closely with our offices in Laurel, MD and Sterling, VA, as well as with staff in our geotechnical and construction observation and testing departments.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
- Perform field work, including site investigation and data collection.
- Prepare effective reports and other deliverables (including appropriate figures, analysis summary tables, and exploration logs).
- Complete accurate Daily Field Reports, Chain of Custody forms, field logs, sketches, and similar project documentation.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure project success.
- Grow into areas such as Phase II ESAs, regulatory interaction, Brownfields redevelopment, vapor intrusion, site remediation, asbestos/lead-based paint surveys, and project management.
Desired education, experience, and skills:
- BS Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering.
- Up to 3 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field.
- Preferred experience conducting Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Willingness to perform field work, including some limited travel.
- Ability to prepare accurate and effective reports and other deliverables.
- Strong attention to detail in project documentation.
- A desire to grow professionally and take on new challenges.
Annual Salary: $45,000.00- $65,000.00
