Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Charlotte, North Carolina office. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional to make a significant impact in a dynamic, growing team.
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead subsurface investigations, manage construction observation and testing projects, and provide engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations. You will prepare, review, and oversee high-quality reports and proposals, troubleshoot complex soils-related challenges, and ensure projects are executed safely and efficiently.
As a Geotechnical Group Leader, you will mentor and guide your team, uphold best practices in safety and project execution, and play a key role in driving the growth of GTA’s geotechnical practice in the region. You will proactively pursue new business opportunities, maintain and strengthen client relationships, and assist in evaluating new markets to support strategic growth and profitability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical concentration (PE required)
Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
7–15 years of experience in geotechnical investigations and construction observation/testing, ideally in North Carolina
Proven business development and client relationship management skills
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management abilities
Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
